Coffs Harbour is traditionally Gumbaynggirr land and recently Marie Hoskins, our school Aboriginal Education Officer, organised new signage to be created and placed around our school and it is fantastic! Using the Gumbaynggirr Language Dictionary, located in our school library, our old school signs were replaced with Gumbaynggirr ones to show respect and give acknowledgement to the Elders of the Gumbaynggirr Nation who's many descendants now attend our school.
We are very proud of all our Indigenous students and fortunate to share this land and be able to educate and share this heritage with all that attend our school.
